Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that? Honoured and humbled to be considered amongst this prestigious group.
When did you join, and what attracted you to the club? July 2022. A couple of mates roped me into doing the swim leg of the Noosa Tri relay. After struggling through a few solo swims I spotted the Red Dog squad flying up and down the lanes of the Valley Pool and felt inspired to try and be a part of it! I stayed on after Noosa and got into the other two disciplines.
How much training do you do at the moment? 10 – 15 hours a week (3 runs, 3 swims, 3-4 rides and ~4 gym)
What’s your favourite session and why? Tuesday track. Great people, supportive vibes and just a great environment to go hard and test yourself.
Who’s your ideal training partner and why? Swim, Bike, Run I enjoy training with the squad as a whole, but special mentions go to Declan and Jack for the swim. Jack, Alana, Oli and Christian on the track, and, I probably should get along to more RD rides to have an answer for the bike.
Favourite motivational quote? Trust the process.
The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is? If you stay consistent and curious you will see improvements. It might not happen straight away but the hours you put into training and learning will pay off.
What’s your next event? World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Spain, then, back for Noosa!
What do you do outside of training? I run a media production business.
