Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that? Thrilled!! It has been a busy few months of training leading up to Mooloolaba.
When did you join, and what attracted you to the club? I joined Red Dog in February 2024. I wanted to mix up my training routine and give triathlon a shot. Previously, I was a member at a local gym and wasn’t getting any fulfilment so joining a triathlon club with a great community was the best change I could have made.
How much training do you do at the moment? I aim to get a session in each day… with the exception of a sleep in on a Monday every now and then.
What’s your favourite session and why? UQ Track Session- Its a fun atmosphere especially when Amanda Hatton brings her positive encouragement and big energy!
Who’s your ideal training partner and why? Swim, Bike, Run. My partner Ollie – he plans most of our training sessions around well thought out cafes and bakeries. Safe to say I have tried every Almond Croissant in Brisbane.
Favourite motivational quote? “It’s all about the journey not the outcome”- Carl Lewis
The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is? Give it a go – you have nothing to lose.
What’s your next event? Potentially Kingscliff Tri as cyclone Alfred has cancelled Mooloolaba.
What do you do outside of training? Every other weekend is usually spent at the coast or doing something outdoors.
What’s your one guilty pleasure? XXXX Gold & a Parmy at a pub.
