Heidi Grice

  1. Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?
    I feel very honoured and lucky to have been chosen amongst so many other great athletes.
  2. When did you join, and what attracted you to the club?
    I joined back in 2013 I was one of the founding members of the elite development program Red Pups coached by Brett. I liked it because my dad trained there.
  3. How much training do you do at the moment?
    I usually do 1-2 sessions a day with at least 2 of each leg a week.
  4. What’s your favourite session and why?
    Tuesday Track sessions are my favourite because seeing Brett Travis every Tuesday morning makes my week. Even though he’s too scared to come to the 0530 session with the real hitters
  5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why? Swim, Bike, Run
    I like swimming with Svet, Felipe and Toby (when he decides to show up) coached by Trent at Swimfit. I like riding with my friends and sometimes with my dad but he always tells me to hurry up. I enjoy running with James as he always has great pep talks during my mid run tantrums.
  6. Favourite motivational quote?
    Comparison is the thief of all joy.
  7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is?
    Eat freckles before exercise and always have fun!
  8. What’s your next event?
    Gold Coast marathon
  9. What do you do outside of training?
    I nap a little bit too much and play netball. I am currently studying a masters of forensic psychology and work at Yeronga pool coaching swimming.
  10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?
    Family packets of chocolate freckles.
