1. Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

I’m really happy and surprised about it. It’s always nice to be recognised for the effort and commitment you put in.

2. When did you join, and what attracted you to the club?

I joined in March 2025 ( i think). I was looking to get into triathlon in Brisbane, and Red Dog kept coming up. At first, I only wanted to focus on swimming. I still remember barely being able to swim 100 metres straight without having to stop, so It’s been great to see how far I’ve come since joining Trent’s training group.

3. How much training do you do at the moment?

A lot! I’m currently preparing for Ironman Cairns, so training takes up a big part of my week. I do three swims with the club and one on my own, two rides, three runs, and one strength session at the gym. It’s crazy how much time and effort this new passion takes, but I love it.

4. What’s your favourite session and why?

Friday morning swim is definitely my favourite. I love the atmosphere. There’s something great about finishing a session, grabbing a coffee afterwards, and then heading off to work. I’m also keen to start coming to the Tuesday morning track sessions—I’ve heard they’re fantastic. Unfortunately, work makes it difficult for me to join many of the club rides.

5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why?

It’s hard to pick just one. I’m lucky to train with a great group of people at Red Dog. I spend a lot of time swimming and riding with a few club mates (Nathan and Owen), but what I enjoy most is the supportive environment and shared commitment to improving. Having training partners who go hard while keeping it fun makes all the difference.

6. Favourite motivational quote?

“It doesn’t matter if I win or lose. What matters is going the distance and proving to myself that I’m capable of more than anyone expected.” — from my favourite movie Rocky Balboa

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is?

Listen to Trent’s advice, trust the process, and don’t get discouraged. Also, sign up for as many events as you can. Racing is one of the best ways to learn and improve.

8. What’s your next event?

Ironman Cairns.

9. What do you do outside of training?

I’m a Physical Training Instructor in the Australian Air Force, and i am studying too. I love soccer and F1. I watch every live match of my favourite Italian football club. No matter where I am or what time they play, I always make sure to tune in.

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Nutella. At the end of the day, I’m still Italian! I absolutely love it.
