How does it feel to be named Red Dog AOTM?
Honestly, very surprised—and of course, happy.
When did you join, and what attracted you to the club?
I joined in late September 2025. I was just browsing clubs online when Red Dog came up. Around the same time, our family had just bought a red poodle we nicknamed “Red Dog,” so it felt like a fun match.
How much training are you doing at the moment?
At least once a day, every day. I just follow my program and don’t pay too much attention to the total volume.
What’s your favourite session and why?
Friday morning swim sessions. The vibes are always high, and there’s plenty of banter, which makes it more enjoyable.
Who’s your ideal training partner (swim, bike, run) and why?
It’s hard to narrow it down to one person—everyone in the club is great to train with. Mike is an amazing pacer on the track, and I love running with Amanda and Lee when I’m not completely cooked. For swimming, Charlotte and Isabella (even if I can’t keep up). For cycling, probably Ben and Oli.
Favourite motivational quote?
“If you ain’t first, you’re last.” – Ricky Bobby
One bit of advice for a newbie?
It’s not that serious. It’s easy to lose balance chasing goals and forget to enjoy the process. Make sure you’re finding ways to have fun with your training.
What’s your next event?
Cairns 70.3
What do you do outside of training?
Sleep—plus a bit of work and uni, and the occasional social life on the side.
What’s your one guilty pleasure?
Ice cream. Easily the best thing ever – I’m a huge advocate for a good ice cream.
