1. Red Dog AOTM—how do you feel about that? Extremely surprised! There are so many amazing athletes in Red Dog and it’s such an amazing environment to train in. The high calibre of the squad really helps me to push myself.

2. When did you join, and what attracted you to the club? I joined in around August 2025 (I think). After injuring my knee at the end of 2024, I finished up competitive swimming and decided I wanted a new challenge. I joined Red Dog partially because I already knew Trent from when my dad swam with him, but I also had heard it was a fun squad where everyone pushes each other but can still have a good time.

3. How much training do you do at the moment? At the moment, I aim to do around 9 sessions a week, with 3 sessions of each discipline. But I sometimes try to sneak an extra swim in here and there because swimming is the best!

4. What’s your favourite session and why? Either Tuesday Track or Wednesday Night Fins sessions. I love the vibe of track; everyone is pushing themselves to the max but still willing to have a laugh and a bit of banter along the way. I also love sprinting with fins on a Wednesday night because there’s nothing better than gliding through the water while going fast.

5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why? (Swim, Bike, Run) Pretty much anyone who can take my banter! The Friday morning swimming crew is great, and I love riding with Jaz (when she is happy to slow down) or Issy. I’ll run with anyone who can hold a good conversation to distract me from the pain of actually running.

6. Favourite motivational quote? “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.”

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is? Just do it. Don’t be afraid to try something new because chances are you’ll really enjoy it. Triathlon is a great way to push yourself and meet some amazing people along the way.

8. What’s your next event? Mooloolaba Tri next week! I’m also trying to do some more ocean swims (even though I’m terrified of the ocean), so most likely the Mooloolaba Mile in April as well.

9. What do you do outside of training? I try to get as much sleep as I can, but with Uni (I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Mathematics), working at Yeronga pool, and socialising, there’s not much time to relax. I always try to make time to watch Geelong play in the AFL or catch the F1 races, though!

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure? Lindt chocolate balls or pretty much any type of soft cheese.
