December 2025

                                  1. Red Dog AOTM, how do you feel about that?

This feels amazing! First of all, I want to thank all the athletes in this Triathlon Club for showing up as well as their partners and families for supporting us with this demanding sport. Without the people in Red Dog, without Trent and without my lovely partner Monnie I would not be in this position.

Trent, I cannot thank you – and the club supporters – enough for believing in me despite a series of challenges. Nevertheless, you put your trust in this campaign and built week after week towards this result – for years. That’s incredible, and there is no doubt that this result is as much yours as it is mine. Collecting my Kona slot during the roll down in Busselton will forever remain a most precious memory. To start 2026 as RDTT Athlete of the Month, alongside a list of incredible human beings and athletes, is something I’m truly proud of.

2. When did you join the club?

I gradually built into triathlon on my own from 2018 to 2022.

Finally, I contacted Trent and joined RDTT after completing Ironman Cairns 2022.

3. How much training do you do at the moment?

I do whatever the plan says for Swim, Bike & Run. Plus, daily mobility, four strength & flexibility sets a week and lots of legs and hip pumps – The best physio at sea.

4. What’s your favourite session and why?

These days they are all my favourite. Every session builds something whether endurance, power, speed, tuning nutrition, just for recovery or sharpening! As long as there is enough energy.

5. Who’s your ideal training partner and why?

At sea I am on my own. My ideal training partner on land is anyone who has a no-BS attitude, rocks up, commits, executes, over’n’over – fast or not. RDTT has a lot of these people who inspire me.

Swim:    Christian, massive inspiration not just in the pool. Huge congrats to you on 2025.

Bike:  Ollie! Unforgettable to qualify for Kona 2026 together in Busselton.

Your AG Overall 2nd is serious inspiration. Still cheering me on as you finish. Respect.

Run:   Inspiring to run very fast: Storchy and the handful of dogs chasing him every Tuesday.

Inspiring to run very far: Shane (Great last 10k tip).

Strava No.1 Training Mates 2025: Mike & Chris

6. Favourite motivational quote?

“You can have results or excuses – not both.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger

7. The one bit of advice I’d give to a newbie is…

This sport is big! Trust your coach, train with as many people as you can, fuel and enjoy the process.

8. What’s your next event?

First: T100 Gold Coast. Finally, walking to a race from home. Couple more prep races during 2026.

Then: IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, KONA, HAWAI’I, 10. October 2026 – Let’s GO!

 9. What do you do outside of training?

Four weeks at sea, I spend working on board “Skandi Feistein”, a Rig Supply ship in the Bass Strait.

Four weeks on land, I spend as much time as I can with Monnie, our dog Murphy and the weekends with my kiddies Nico & Sylvia.

10. What’s your one guilty pleasure?

Totally switching off with the dog.
